Ride Saturday, July 13

This week, the group will ride to Hastings and follow the 53-mile Revenna Trail route. Someone will need to step up an lead the group and decide whether to go clockwise or counter clockwise. Add the route to your bike computer, so you know were to go. There are a couple of places for a nature break, but no bakery stops, so bring food. The weather should be beautiful with a light, 3 to 5 mph wind from the east and temps 71 to 82 degrees.

Ride Saturday, July 6

This week, we’ll ride north for the first time all year. We will follow the St. Paul Marshall Ave route clockwise and stop for a nature break at a gas station in St. Paul. I’m planning to add a small detour or two to make this ride about 50 miles. The weather forecast predicts cooler temperatures of 67 – 74 degrees with light northeast winds at 5 mph and a 61-degree dewpoint, so it should feel much better than it has been.

Ride Saturday, June 22

It looks like another weekend with wind from the east (at 10 mph) and a chance for rain. The latest forecast says there is a 20% chance of rain Saturday morning, so hopefully it will be dry during the entire ride. The route will be the same as last week, Revenna Trail, but in the opposite direction, so it will feel different. The ride will start at 08:00 and it will be led by the oldest participant, or their designee.

Ride Saturday, June 15

Update: There's some rain moving through, and Rosemount is on the southern edge of it right now. After that rolls through, it's supposed to be dry, so today's ride will start at 09:00. We'll do the Revenna Trail route counter clockwise.

The details of the weather forecast for our Saturday ride keeps changing, but the current prediction is temps of 66 to 72 degrees, winds from the East at 7 to 8 mph and a 20 to 40% chance of rain. With that in mind, let’s plan to leave Rosemount at 09:00, ride to Hastings, and stop at the Lock and Dam. If the weather looks good, we can follow our Hastings Revenna Trail route, but return via CR 46, instead of CR 66. If it looks like rain, we can return more directly via CR 46. You may want to bring a rain jacket or vest to stay warm if we get caught in the rain.

Ride Saturday, May 25

Saturday, we’ll leave Rosemount at 08:00 and ride to Prior Lake, stopping at Edelweiss Bakery, before returning to Starbucks. We will ride the 55-mile route counter clockwise. The river bottoms are probably still under water, and the recent rain isn’t helping, so we’ll follow the alternate route, unless someone can confirm that Blackdog Road is open. The weather forecast is looking good for Saturday, with moderate winds from the west, and temps from 60 to 70 degrees.

No Group Ride this Weekend

It's supposed to rain all weekend, so there won't be a group ride this week. If you want to get in some miles in the next few days, it looks like you'll want to get out on Monday.

Our club's Garneau kit order and 120 pairs of custom-made RCC socks have arrived at Grand Performance, and I'm going to pick them up this weekend. I'll distribute your Garneau purchases and sell the socks at our rides.
