The strong winds we’ve had the last few days will give way to light winds from the southeast Saturday morning, and pleasant temps from 59 to 67 degrees. We’ll leave Rosemount at 08:00 and head east to Hastings, stop at the Lock and Dam, follow Revenna Trail south, and then return to Rosemount.Read More
The weather is going to be perfect this weekend, so let’s do a longer ride than usual. We’ll follow the 81-mile Red Wing route, which we’ve done a couple of times before at this time of year, so many of you have seen this loop. The ride will start from Rosemount at 08:00 and we will ride to the Lock and Dam in Hastings for a quick stop. We’ll proceed through Prescott, along scenic and hilly Wisconsin Hwy 35 to Red Wing, where we’ll stop at Hanisch Bakery and Coffee Shop. This will be an 81-mile route with about 1,700 feet of climbing, so expect return to Rosemount around 13:00. This is a no-drop ride, so we'll group up at the top of the hills and keep a lower pace than normal, due to the ride length.
For those of you who need to go shorter, you may start at the Lock and Dam in Hastings at 09:00 and join us for the ride to Red Wing; that loop is about 55-miles. Or, you may start from Rosemount and do the 53-mile Revenna Trail route or the 38-mile Hastings route.Read More
This week, the group will ride to Hastings and follow the 53-mile Revenna Trail route. Someone will need to step up an lead the group and decide whether to go clockwise or counter clockwise. Add the route to your bike computer, so you know were to go. There are a couple of places for a nature break, but no bakery stops, so bring food. The weather should be beautiful with a light, 3 to 5 mph wind from the east and temps 71 to 82 degrees.Read More
It looks like another weekend with wind from the east (at 10 mph) and a chance for rain. The latest forecast says there is a 20% chance of rain Saturday morning, so hopefully it will be dry during the entire ride. The route will be the same as last week, Revenna Trail, but in the opposite direction, so it will feel different. The ride will start at 08:00 and it will be led by the oldest participant, or their designee.Read More
The forecast calls for light winds out of the S-SE (6-10mph), so let's plan to ride the Hastings-Ravenna Trail Loop and enjoy a slight tailwind on the way home. We last did this route on July 14 and it's a nice one that takes in a lovely section through Spring Lake Regional Park.Read More
Saturday, we will ride the Hastings Revenna Trail route, which is 58 miles. We'll start at 08:00 and make two short stops, for a nature break, near mile 26 and 43 (Lock and Dam #2), so bring food. I'm also planning to change the route to avoid crossing Hwy 52 at CR 66, since that intersection is getting so busy.Read More
Saturday, we will leave Rosemount at 08:00 and follow a 70-mile course, which is based on the Revenna Trail route that we did a couple of weeks ago, and it includes a couple of roads that we haven't been on for a few years. We are going clockwise, so even the same roads will feel like new ones. The Prairie Island route will take us through Hastings and out Revenna Trail and beyond to near the Prairie Island power plant, where there's a 2.75-mile, 383 foot climb at the half-way point and then we return to Rosemount with a tail wind. If you need to make shorter, there are a couple of good turnaround points. If it rains Saturday morning, we will do the same ride Sunday at the same time.Read More
