The rain and winds will clear and we’ll have good weather for our group ride Saturday. We’ll use our 56-mile route south to Cannon Falls and follow the route counter-clockwise — the opposite direction from a few weeks ago. The weather will be a bit cooler Saturday (54–66 degrees), light SSE winds, and a mix of clouds and sun. Arm warmers and/or a vest may be good kit to include on your ride.Read More
The weather forecast for Saturday looks good, with temps from 62 to 72 degrees, and moderate winds (8 – 12 mph) from the southeast, so I suggest the group ride to Cannon Falls, while I’m away this week. Nearly everyone knows the route and you’ll have a good tail wind coming back, so that should make this a good route. You can go clockwise or counter clockwise and, as usual, the ride will leave Rosemount at 08:00.Read More
Saturday, we have two ride options for you. You may ride to Cannon Falls, stop at Hi-Quality Bakery for a treat, and then return home. Or, you may add nearly 30 miles and continue on through White Rock, Vasa, Welch, and Miesville where we’ll stop again before returning to Rosemount. The ride will start at 08:00 and the weather forecast for the ride is mixed clouds and sun with temps 76 to 87 degrees and winds SSE at 5 to 7 mph.Read More
It’s going to be another windy day this week, and we will celebrate my 50th birthday by riding to Cannon Falls and stopping at Hi-Quality Bakery for a treat before returning to Rosemount. You’ve heard the saying about April showers, right? Well, rain showers are coming Saturday (and some more coming next week) so we will ride on Sunday morning at 09:00. We’ll ride south to Cannon Falls, and bring your own food, because the bakery isn’t open on Sunday. We’ll make a stop at the county park at Lake Byllesby and skip the trip into town. We’ll follow the 56-mile route counterclockwise and should finish around Noon.Read More
This year’s hot weather is mostly gone now, and Saturday it will be a lot cooler than it was last week, so you’ll need to get out your cool-weather kit for the ride. If you need some help figuring out what to wear, check out the posts about clothing on our Cycling Tips blog, including a new post, titled “A Clothing Guide for Cyclists,” that I wrote to help new riders extend their season.
It’ll be windy from the south again this week, so we’ll try to avoid the cross winds by riding to Cannon Falls. We’ll leave Rosemount at 8:00 and follow the posted route clockwise, with a stop at Hi-Quality Bakery.Read More

It has been three weeks since our last outdoor ride, and I bet you're as frustrated as I am about this spring weather. To try to make up for lost time, I'm planning to do two rides this weekend. Neither ride will be fast or furious, until the end, because most of us have spring legs and we need to keep everyone together and having fun. There's both a morning and an afternoon ride, so hopefully you can make it to one or both of them.Read More
