Saturday Rides Starting from Starbucks in Rosemount, MN
Saturday’s ride route will be to Prior Lake via Black Dog Lake counterclockwise. The ride will start at 08:00 and it will have a stop at Edelweiss Bakery in Prior Lake. It will be warm and tropical Saturday, so a I don’t think you’ll mind a little shorter route. It should be mostly sunny with temps from 75 to 84 degrees, but it will feel like 80 to 90 degrees, and west winds from 4 to 6 mph.
Read MoreThe weather looks great for a longer ride this week, so we’re going to ride to Red Wing Saturday. This 81-mile ride will start at 08:00, as usual, but we won’t finish until about 13:00. We’ll stop for a short nature break at the Lock and Dam in Hastings and again at Hanisch Bakery and Coffee Shop in Red Wing. If you need to go shorter, you may want to turn around in Hastings or follow our Revenna Trail route clockwise.

This 55-mile route has been updated a bit to avoid CR 46, because we’ve had so many flats caused by the gravel on that stretch of CR 46.

It’s been a while since we’ve ridden that direction, and we haven’t ridden this 53-mile route counterclockwise this year, so that will be a nice change. There’s a chance of some light rain Saturday morning, and we’ll ride at 08:00 as long as it’s dry. If we have a rain delay, I’ll update this message with the new start time.

Saturday’s 56-mile ride will leave Rosemount at 08:00 and go to Edina via the I-35W bridge. This is a new version of our Edina route that I created, because the Minnesota Valley State Trail under the Highway 169 bridge is still closed. During the ride, it should be 69 to 80 degrees and sunny with a NW wind from 4 to 8 mph.

Read MoreWe’re hosting a special Memorial Day ride Monday. This ride will start at Hyland Lake Park Preserve (10145 E Bush Lake Rd, Bloomington), not Rosemount, and head west to Waconia and back. This 60-mile ride will start at 08:00, and we should be back at the park before Noon. We’ll stop for a short break at a coffee shop in Waconia (there are several in the same area). There are a couple of places where you could shortcut to shorten the route, if needed. Let me know before the ride if you need directions.
We’ve stopped at Hyland Lake many times in the last year for a mid-ride break, so many of you have seen the park. We’ll meet up at 08:00 at Sunnyside Picnic Area, which is south of the Visitor Center. Please do not park immediately west of the Visitor Center.

Anyone wanting to do more miles can proceed to Welch before returning to Rosemount. The route to Cannon Falls and back is 56 miles, and the longer route to Welch is 83 miles and it doubles the elevation gain. The weather should be cool (48 to 61 degrees) with light south winds early and increasing to 10 mph around Noon.
