Ride Saturday, June 12

I hope you’re surviving the extended heat wave, and riding when it’s safe to do so. A cool front that’s coming through Friday is supposed to help us by lowering the humidity and the morning temperatures for a while.

Saturday’s 56-mile ride will leave Rosemount at 08:00 and go to Edina via the I-35W bridge. This is a new version of our Edina route, which I created today, because the Minnesota Valley State Trail under the Highway 169 bridge is still closed. During the ride, it should be 69 to 80 degrees and sunny with a NW wind from 4 to 8 mph.

Everyone wants to return home safely after a ride, so remember to keep right of the fog line whenever you are able to do so. Also, avoid making sudden moves right or left, especially when riding in a group.

Today, USA Cycling announced the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Team. As usual, the women’s teams are bigger and are expected to earn several medals. The 2020 Olympic Games will run July 23-August 8, 2021, in Tokyo, Japan.
