Read MoreIt’s going to be unseasonably warm Saturday afternoon, so we’re going to have another road ride, which will leave Rosemount at 1 PM and follow our Orchard Lake route. It will be sunny and 47 degrees with a 9 mph SW wind, although it will feel like 42 to 44 degrees. Jack and Martin will be leading the ride, because I have a hike planned with my wife and daughter.
For those of you who ride Zwift, I will continue hosting group rides Saturday mornings at 08:00 throughout the winter. So far this year, we’ve been getting groups of about a dozen riders and we use Discord to chat about cycling and other things during the ride. These rides are about 2 hours of endurance riding, like our outdoor rides, except you can stop any time you want, because you’re always at home.
Read MoreThis year, 27 people completed our 2020 Rider Satisfaction Survey, which was open throughout September and October. (There are 42 paid members and 120 addresses on our mailing list.) We collected feedback via a short, nine-question survey. The survey, over the last three years, has been largely the same, with minor changes to questions 5 (ride speed), 6 (preferred routes) and 7 (cycling kit).
The first four questions were basic satisfaction inquiries. All participants reported that our group rides meet their needs, 96% of participants said they were satisfied or very satisfied with our club, and 96% said we have very-high-quality or high-quality rides. Safety of our rides was rated as above average or excellent by 92% of participants. None of these responses are surprising, because you’d probably riding elsewhere if we weren’t meeting these basic needs.
Read MoreSaturday, we’ll leave Rosemount at 08:00 and head south to Northfield, following our route counter clockwise. We’ll stop at Northfield’s Odd Fellows Park for a short break, before returning home.
I hope you were able to get out on rides and runs and enjoy the unseasonably warm weather the last few days. The warm weather is going to continue through this weekend. During our ride, it will be mostly cloudy and 59 to 64 degrees with 11 to 15 mph winds from the SSW.
This week, we will be able to ride on the road outside. Starting at 1:00 PM, we will leave Rosemount and ride west to Prior Lake. We’ll skip the jog in downtown Prior Lake and stop at Cleary Lake Regional Park instead. This is a 45 or 55-mile route that we haven’t ridden since July 2019. We can choose the length at around mile 40. It will feel like 40 degrees, with partly sunny skies, temps from 45 to 47 degrees, and west winds at 15 mph.
Read MoreThis week, we will start our ride from Rosemount at 09:00. That should give any early morning rain or snow time to clear out and make way for another great ride. We will be riding to Edina, following a route that we did in July, with a stop at Hyland Park in Bloomington. The 54-mile course has a little more elevation gain than last week’s ride. Autumn colors are past peak, but we should still have some great scenery.
Read MoreThis week, starting at 08:00, we will be heading north via our West Saint Paul route clockwise. We’ll add an extra loop into Bloomington to make this a 48-mile route with 2,200 feet of climbing.
Read MoreThis week, we are heading east to Hastings via our 54-mile Revenna Tail route, which we’ll follow clockwise and through Spring Lake Park, so we can enjoy the autumn colors through the park. The ride will start in Rosemount at 08:00.
Read MoreWe’re going south again this week and heading to Northfield and we’ll follow it clockwise. This is a 56-mile route with a lot of open roads. It should be cloudy with temps from 60 to 68 degrees and winds SSE from 5 to 7 mph.
Read MoreThis week, we’re riding to Cannon Falls. It has been a few months since we’ve taken this route, which has a lot of open roads and a trail and good scenery near our stop at Lake Byllesby Park.
The weather is looking good with partly cloudy skies, temps from 51 to 62 degrees, and winds from the south at 7 to 11 mph. The wind should give us a good workout and a nice ride back to Rosemount.
