Saturday Rides Starting from Starbucks in Rosemount, MN
Saturday’s weather forecast is looking glorious, and we’re going to take the opportunity to ride to Cannon Falls clockwise. I’ve modified the beginning of the route to go out via Connemara Trail, CR 42, and Hwy 55 to CR 85, rather than CR 46, which has gravel on the shoulder that caused so many flats for us earlier this year. As usual, the ride will start at 08:00.

Rain showers and storms are predicted all day Saturday, while Sunday morning looks like it will be cloudy, so this weekend we’ll ride Sunday morning at 08:00. The route will be Northfield counterclockwise, which is a 55-mile loop. We haven’t done this route counterclockwise yet this year, and it’s been a month since we last made the trek to Northfield. As usual, we’ll take a break at Brick Oven Bakery in Northfield.

In Shakopee, we’ll stop at the Donut Connection for coffee and pastries. The weather should be nice with partly cloudy skies, temps from 64 to 76 degrees, and a 7 mph west wind. The ride will leave Rosemount at 08:00.

It will be warm and tropical Saturday, so a I don’t think you’ll mind a little shorter route. It should be mostly sunny with temps from 75 to 84 degrees, but it will feel like 80 to 90 degrees, and west winds from 4 to 6 mph.

We’ll stop for a short nature break at the Lock and Dam in Hastings and again at Hanisch Bakery and Coffee Shop in Red Wing. If you need to go shorter, you may want to turn around in Hastings or follow our Revenna Trail route clockwise.

It’s been a while since we’ve ridden that direction, and we haven’t ridden this 53-mile route counterclockwise this year, so that will be a nice change. There’s a chance of some light rain Saturday morning, and we’ll ride at 08:00 as long as it’s dry. If we have a rain delay, I’ll update this message with the new start time.

Saturday’s 56-mile ride will leave Rosemount at 08:00 and go to Edina via the I-35W bridge. This is a new version of our Edina route that I created, because the Minnesota Valley State Trail under the Highway 169 bridge is still closed. During the ride, it should be 69 to 80 degrees and sunny with a NW wind from 4 to 8 mph.
