Saturday Rides Starting from Starbucks in Rosemount, MN
Local rivers are coming down from major flooding, but our options for Saturday’s ride are still limited. We’ll have to wait to see what kind of damage is revealed when the water recedes. This week’s suggested route, starting from Starbucks in Rosemount at 8:00, is to Prior Lake in a counterclockwise direction.

It will be dry on Sunday, so we’re going to ride to Shakopee in a counterclockwise direction, starting from Starbucks at 8:00. Our route should avoid flooding, because we’re crossing the Minnesota River at I-494 and Hwy 101. This route is a bit longer than usual, so plan for a little more time and effort.

We’ll stop at the Hyland Lake Park Reserve visitor center, which is 24 miles into the ride and has food and drinks. This 57-mile ride should take us about 3.5 hours. We’ll likely stop for a short nature break at Cherokee Regional Park, which is just past the High Bridge. Sunday morning it will be 52°F to 60°F, with sunny skies and a light north wind at about 4 mph.
