Ride Saturday, June 3
Summer is here and this week we’re riding from Rosemount to Hastings and Revenna Trail clockwise. As usual, the ride will start at 8:00, and we’ll stop at the Lock and Dam in Hastings for a nature break. During our ride, we should have great weather with temps from 71 to 83 degrees, partly sunny skies, and light 4-5 mph winds from the east.
Have you ever been on a ride, and while waiting for the light to change, had a driver yell at you because your bike doesn’t have tabs? Well, I told him that people who bike are subsidizing, not shirking, street costs. That article explains many reasons why cyclists, especially those of us who use them for transportation, subsidize people with cars and trucks who also use our roads.
Regular riders are expected to contribute annual dues, which are just $20 a year. One way that we use that money is to pay for the club’s website, which is how most new riders find us. Another use is for a subscription to Ride with GPS, so we can build and share our routes with you.
