Ride Saturday, September 16

Saturday’s ride will start at 8:00 from Starbucks and head northwest to Edina via I-35W. Again, due to construction on Diamond Path at 140th Street, we will return to Starbucks via Evermoor and Shannon Parkways. We will stop near the half-way point at Hyland Lake Park, where you can buy food and drinks.

As is the norm for this time of year, temperatures are dropping so we need to plan our kit for our rides, rather than just throwing on bib shorts and a jersey. I’ve been adding a base layer, arm warmers, and/or full-finger gloves. You may want more or less kit than me. Saturday, the temps will be in the mid 50s at the start and rise to near 70 degrees by the end of our ride. Throughout the ride, it will be mostly sunny with light NW winds.

If you haven’t been following this year’s La Vuelta, you should, because Supp Kuss is still in the lead by a few seconds over his teammates. All three of them are noticeably faster than the other riders in the field. Kuss has a good chance of winning the GC on Sunday. You may watch La Vuelta live via Peacock or catch up on the action with daily highlights that NBC Sports posts on their YouTube channel.
