Ride Sunday, July 19
There’s a heat advisory for Saturday, and it’s going to be warmer than two weeks ago when we nearly overheated coming back from Northfield. So, rather than doing that again, we’ll ride Sunday morning, when it will be much cooler. If you’re going out on a ride Saturday, get out at day break and bring a lot of fluids.
The ride Sunday morning will not follow one of our typical routes, so this will be an opportunity to see some new roads. We’ll leave Rosemount at 08:00 and head west through Burnsville and Savage before heading north through Bloomington to Edina near highways 62 and 169. We’ll then head back to Rosemount via the Old Cedar Bridge. This route should be about 54 miles long and we’ll stop at Hyland Lake Park. The weather Sunday should be sunny with temps from 72 to 79 degrees and moderate winds from the northwest.
Keith Morical finished his record-breaking ride through 48-states in just 30 days. To reach his stretch goal, Keith had just 6 hours of sleep in the last five days and rode the last 603 miles with no sleep. Wow!
