Ride Saturday, December 6
Saturday is Global Fat Bike Day, and we will celebrate again this year with a ride on the Minnesota River Bottoms Trail. This is an easy, flat trail that anyone can ride. The trail conditions are great and we should get another half inch of fresh powder Friday.
Meet at the parking lot on Lyndale Avenue, by I-35W in Bloomington. We will start riding at 9:00 and ride east toward Cedar Avenue and beyond. You may also join us on the north side of the Cedar Avenue bridge around 9:20 to 9:25. If you ride from Eagan make sure you cross the river and then look for us on the trail north of the river. The group can decide from there where to ride.
We'll regroup at regular intervals on the trail, as needed. I think we'll ride about three hours and finish around Noon. It should be cold, but not too cold, with temps from 13° to 15°F, mostly cloudy skies, and light North winds at 5 mph. It will feel like 6° to 9°F, so dress appropriately.
Zwifters, more than 50 of you have joined our club. This is a reminder that we have weekly rides at 8:00 on Saturdays. The rides are usually about 90 to 120 minutes long, but you can stop at any time, since you're always at home. By default, the Companion app will notify you about the club's rides and chat messages, and you may use it to RSVP any time before the rides start. We can schedule rides up to four weeks out, so you can register for more than one week.
Again this season, Doug Blomker, Jack Conrad, and Dave Kotz are organizing teams for WTRL’s TTTs on Zwift. Each team has different speeds, so there’s a team for you. So, if you're interested, reach out to the team organizers or me and we'll give you more information and get you signed up to join us.
