The tour is an event of the Rotary Club of Northfield and an official event of Defeat of Jesse James Days, one of Minnesota’s largest community celebrations. Held the weekend after Labor Day each year, Defeat of Jesse James Days commemorates the failed bank robbery of 1876 that led to the ultimate downfall of the James-Younger gang. The raid is re-enacted several times throughout the weekend.
This fun ride leads you through scenic southeastern Minnesota. Enjoy the great outdoors and meet new people on one of five routes, each featuring aid stations and refreshments. All proceeds from the ride benefit community projects, including the Mill Towns Trail and Northfield’s Safe Routes to School program.
Routes for the 2018 Rotary Club of Northfield event are anticipated to very similar and will be determined closer to the event. The routes will be well-marked during the tour.
